What is buccal fat pad removal?
When a patient has chubby cheeks, its usually due to a pair of fat pads under de cheek muscles called the buccal fat pads. Removal of these fat pads will reduce the size of the cheeks and accentuate the cheekbones. It will turn a round face into a more triangular one. The look you get is very similar to when people take selfies and suck their cheeks in. To get this look, the buccal fat pads are removed through tiny incisions inside the mouth. It’s a very simple and quick procedure under local anesthesia.
